 Deputy Chief

Deputy Chief StevensMajor Ron Stevens serves as the Deputy Chief of Police. His responsibilities include oversight of the field services, criminal investigation, and administrative bureaus. Major Stevens manages and oversees all personnel-related functions to ensure the day-to-day efficiency and high quality of service of the Police Department.

Major Stevens came to the Westminster Police Department after retiring from the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) Police as a Major with 28 years of Maryland State service. While with the MdTA Police he served in a variety of positions, including Patrol Officer, Detective, Polygraph Examiner, Shift Supervisor, Detective Commander, Central Region Commander, Baltimore/Washington International Airport Detachment Commander, and Chief of the Administrative Services Bureau.

Major Stevens holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and The Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice for Polygraph training. He is married with two children and resides in Baltimore County.
