
Major Ron Stevens serves as the Deputy Chief of Police. His responsibilities include oversight of the field services, criminal investigation, and administrative bureaus. Major Stevens manages and oversees all personnel-related functions to ensure the day-to-day efficiency and high quality of service of the Police Department.
Major Stevens came to the Westminster Police Department after retiring from the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) Police as a Major with 28 years of Maryland State service. While with the MdTA Police he served in a variety of positions, including Patrol Officer, Detective, Polygraph Examiner, Shift Supervisor, Detective Commander, Central Region Commander, Baltimore/Washington International Airport Detachment Commander, and Chief of the Administrative Services Bureau.
Major Stevens holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and The Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice for Polygraph training. He is married with two children and resides in Baltimore County.
