RECYCLING FACTS & FIGURES
|

Every month, the average Westminster household collects 75 pounds of recyclables and throws away
about 200 pounds of trash.

most recent Recycling Report.

Thanks to your efforts during the last year, the City of Westminster has recycled approximately 28% of its solid waste stream. During FY 2004 - 05, recycling resulted in a savings of approximately $114,000 in landfill tipping fees. The majority of this savings was a direct result of recycling by individual residents. For this reason, I encourage you to continue your recycling efforts or to begin recycling if you have not in the past.
Solid Waste and Recycling Collection – Ecology Services, Inc. (1-800-932-7299)
Beginning July 1, 2008, solid waste and recycling services are provided by Ecology Services, Inc. ("Ecology"). Ecology will follow the same collection schedule as our previous hauler, BFI/Allied Waste. There are no changes to the policies regarding placement of trash cans, types of containers, or items collected- just a different company providing the same service. For questions regarding solid waste recyclables collection, contact Ecology using the number above.
