Special Meeting

October 18, 2007

On the evening of October 18, 2007 at 7:30 p.m., Chair Camlin called to order a meeting of the Westminster Historic District Commission (HDC or Commission). Chairman Camlin, Vice Chair McMasters, members Goodell and Trescott, Natural and Cultural Resources Planner Rogers; and members of the public were present. Chairman Camlin opened the meeting with the "Statement of Authority" for the HDC.

Mr. Camlin stated that the purpose of the special meeting is to evaluate preliminary tax credit application No. 07-7 for 21 Longwell Avenue. Mr. Evan Cohen was introduced as the applicant. Mr. Cohen thanked the HDC for meeting to consider his application, and explained the proposed work to his property. His proposal included replacement of a failed heating system with a new split heating/air conditioning system, repairs to flooring, and electrical upgrades. Mr. Goodell inquired about the possibility of repairing the existing furnace. Mr. Rogers suggested that the Commission require screening to obstruct the view of the condenser units from the rear alley. Mr. Goodell made a motion to approve the application for preliminary eligibility as submitted, conditional upon successful screening of the condenser units. Mrs. McMasters seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote.  

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. by consensus of the Commission.
