MINUTES
May 16, 2002
On the evening of May 16, 2002 at 7:00 p.m., Chairman Camlin called to order the meeting of the Westminster Historic District Commission (HDC or Commission). The Chairman opened the meeting with a "Statement of Authority" for the HDC. Members Walters, Thomas and Smith were present, as well as Town Planner Shawn Siders.
The minutes of the February 21, 2002 meeting were approved as amended on motion of Mrs. Walters, seconded by Ms. Thomas.
No public hearings were scheduled.
Under new business, Mr. Siders stated that the developer of the Roop’s Mill Property is considering using various State funding sources for the redevelopment of the historic Roop’s Mill. Mr. Siders stated at this point, the developer is not in a position to request that the HDC support an application for designation as a historic property on the National Register District of Historic Places, however, the HDC may receive a request for support at a later date.
Under old business, Mr. Siders gave a final overview of the 5th Annual Renovator’s Workshop. The HDC stated it would discuss future workshops at a later meeting.
Ms. Smith stated that the florists for the 2002 Holiday House Tour have been assigned to the various homeowners. Ms. Smith stated that a representative from Shepherd Staff has requested to appear before the HDC for its consideration on whether or not to allow Shepherd Staff volunteers sell items during the House Tour.
There was no report of the Director of Planning and Public Works designee.
There was no report of the Chairperson.
There were no Citizen Comments.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
