MINUTES

January 15, 2004

On the evening of January 15, 2004 at 7:00 p.m., Chairman Camlin called to order the meeting of the Westminster Historic District Commission (HDC or Commission).  Chairman Camlin; Members Walters and Thomas; and Technical Planner Fisher were present.  The Chairman opened the meeting with a "Statement of Authority" for the HDC. 

The minutes of the November 6, 2003 meeting were approved as presented on Motion of Mrs. Thomas, seconded by Mrs. Walters.

Under old business, Mrs. Thomas gave an update for the 2004 Holiday House Tour.  Mrs. Thomas stated that she would contact florists for the tour.  The Commission discussed sending letters to the confirmed homes on the upcoming tour.

Under Report of the Director of Planning and Public Works, the Commission decided to move the February through May meetings of the HDC to the first Monday of the month.  The next meeting was scheduled for February 2nd.

Under Report of the Chairman, Chairman Camlin reported that Dutterer’s Florist reopened on February 20 to good reviews from the community.  Chairman Camlin noted that the rehabilitation was funded in part by the City’s Façade Improvement Program, but that the project’s application to the Maryland Historical Trust for rehabilitation tax credits had been turned down as the proposed turret was found to not be historically justifiable.  Chairman Camlin also reported that O’Lorden’s Tavern is several months from opening.

There were no Citizen Comments.

Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m. by consensus of the Commission.
