8                          Tumble Kicks-Winter Session I
Let's get moving!  This very successful class is designed for children ages 2-5 years.  Each child has the opportunity to socialize and exercise without a "caretaker".  To explore movement children will use a variety of music and props, such as parachutes, hula hoops, beanbags, etc.  In addition, the children will be introduced to basic tumbling and sports skills.  All classes are held at the Westminster Family fitness Center.  Class times vary from 9am-11am.  Cost for an 8 week session is $50.  Family Center Members pay $45.

23                       Mini Super Hero Party
It's a bird!  It's a plane!  It's mini super hero day!  Children ages 3-5 years are invited to a one day program to  celebrate our favorite masked friends from 9:30-10:45am.  Enjoy a super story and make a fantastic special craft to take home.  A snack will be provided.  Dress to get messy or as your favorite super hero.  Cost is $15 per child..  Program is held at the Longwell Municipal Center (Old Armory).  Please register by January 18th.  PRE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!  Space is limited.

30                        Princess Party
Come celebrate your favorite storybook royalty in a day fit for a little princess from 9:30-10:45am.  Have fun playing and dancing like nobility.  Decorate you own crown and create a special princess craft.  Come dressed in your favorite princess costume and share a majestic snack.  Program for ages 3-5years and the cost is $15 per child.  PRE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!  Space is limited.

22                         Easter Egg Hunts
Our Annual Egg Hunt will be held on Westminster City Hall Grounds (1838 Emerald Hill Lane).  The first hunt will start promptly at 10:30am for ages 1-4years.  The second hunt is for ages 5-8 years and begins at 11:30am. There will be over 4,000 plastic filled eggs with 100 special prize eggs scattered throughout.  The hunts are FREE and open to the public.  Don't forget your basket!  A bunny petting zoo, face painting, basket raffles, and food will be available for purchase.  The Easter Bunny is also planning to make a special visit.

30                        Mother/Daughter Luncheon and Ballet
Westminster City Recreation and State of the Arts present a day for Mothers and Daughters to enjoy quality time together from 1-3pm at the Best Western Conference Center.  State of the Arts will "WOW" you with a variety of dance performances.  Each person will receive a plated light lunch and a 5X7 photo (with the purchase of an adult ticket)  There will be games and door prizes too!  http://www.wbtdance.com/

12                        Westminster Fallfest Gala
A champagne reception, dinner, open bar, silent auction, and music by "The Majestics" will be offered at a donation of $100 per person.  Proceeds from this event benefit Carroll County Historical Society, Carroll Hospice, Kiwanis Clubs of Westminster, and Rape Crisis Intervention Services.

20                       5th Annual Spring Thaw Show
The Spring Thaw show is presented by the Mid Maryland Ford Club Inc. and Westminster Fallfest Inc. Located at the Longwell Lot in downtown Westminster and open to all makes and models.  Registration begins at 9am and lasts until Noon and the cost is $13 per vehicle.  70 trophies awarded in 4 classes and dash plaques given to the first 200 vehicles registered.  Rain date-4/27.

26                       Father/Son Miniature Golf Tournament
The 3rd annual golf event will take place on Saturday, April 26th at 10am at the Westminster's Island Green.  The cost is $25/twosome.  Fee includes light refreshments, awards, and door prizes.  Trophies will be awarded to the 1st place winners in the following age groups; 5-7, 8-10, and 11-13 years.  Tournament is limited to 36 twosomes.  (ONE ADULT MALE AND ONE MALE CHILD GRADES K-8TH)

26                      Tour de Carroll
This year will be the 4th annual Tour De Carroll, a cycling event for all ages and skill levels.  It will feature an 8 mile, 34 mile, and 62 mile full metric century.  The $25 registration fee includes lunch, an event t-shirt, entrance into a drawing for door prizes, AND a 30 day pass to the Westminster Family Fitness Center.  Full SAG and Sweep with maps and cue sheets.  100% of the proceeds benefit West End Place Adult Service.  Register on-line at www.TourdeCarroll.com or www.active.com.  Registrations the day of this event are also accepted.

10                       Flower & Jazz Festival and Fun Run
Come visit us in Historic Downtown Westminster from 10am-4pm for a leisurely day of fun and jazz.  Delicious food and great entertainment will be offered throughout the day.  Local nurseries set up beautiful displays of unusual plants and shrubs.  There are also over 70 craft vendors displaying a wide of variety of unique items.  This event is open to the public.  Mom...don't forget to visit the information table for your free gift.  Admission and parking are FREE!  NO PETS PLEASE
                            Fun Run
The fun run will be held at the Wakefield Valley Community Trail (Tahoma Farm Rd).  This year there will be a 200 yard dash for children ages 6 and under starting @ 9am.  The one mile fun run will start @ 9:15am for ages 7 and up.  Then the timed 5K will begin @ 9:30am.  A $15 donation is requested ($5 discount when registering 2 or more participants.)   All proceeds will benefit Carroll County Youth Service Bureau.  REGISTRATION FORM

26                    Westminster Municipal Pool Opens
The Westminster Municipal Pool is located at 325 Royer Rd.  Season passes are available for families and individuals.  We are open to the public and gate fees are $5 for 12 years and older and $3 for 11 years and under.  Senior rates are available as well.  The pool closes after Labor Day.  Please access our pool and swimming information link at the top of this page for more information.

26                    Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
Parade starts at 10am on Pennsylvania Avenue and ends on Church Street at the Westminster Cemetery.  A memorial service will begin at 11am in the cemetery.

7                       Art in the Park
Art in the Park will be held from 10am-5pm on the City Hall Grounds (1838 Emerald Hill Lane) rain or shine.   This is a festival of visual and performing arts featuring dozens of the region's most talented painters, photographers, and fine craft artists.  Continuous live music and free kids crafts.  FREE admission and parking.  NO PETS!

16                        Day Camp
Westminster City Recreation's Summer Day camp takes place for 10 consecutive weeks.  It is designed for children to participate in a full day program interacting with one another.  Campers participate in games, sports, crafts, field trips, swimming, and a variety of other activities.  This is a great way for your children to spend the summer enjoying structured, safe, and fun activities.

16                         3 on 3 Basketball
The 14th annual 3 on 3 basketball league will begin on Monday, June 16 at 6:30pm and runs through August at Jaycee Park. There will be 5 weeks of fundamentals and drills and 5 weeks of games.  The league is for boys and girls ages 5-9 and 10-13.  Cost is $20/child (includes t-shirt, tournament, cookout, and awards) Fundamentals and games will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8pm.

27-29                   Commemoration of the 145th Anniversary of Corbit's Charge Civil War Event
FREE  Civil War Concert on Locust Lane by O' Be Joyful from 6:30-8:30pm and Historical Tours of Downtown Westminster on Friday, June 27th.  FREE Civil War encampment, infantry, canon, ad medical demos will be held at the Carroll County Multi Service Center grounds (224 Center St) on Saturday, June 28th from 10am until dark.  Battle Memorial Dedication will be held at 1:00pm at the War Memorial Park (Court Place) followed by a Graveside ceremony at the Ascension Episcopal Church (23 N. Court Street).  Susquehanna Travellers concert will be held from 7:00-9:00pm.  Opening on Sunday at 10am with a civil war church service.  Daily events include Civil War Era Music, Museum Exhibits, Relic & Uniform Displays Living History Notables, Sutlers, Guided Battle and Site Walking Tours will be held on Sunday June 22nd from 12 noon-3pm on the Carroll County Multi Service Center Grounds.

Tot camp is held in the Community building located at the Westminster Municipal Pool.  (325 Royer Rd.)  It is designed for children ages 3-5 (Must be potty trained) to challenge their curiosity and creativity.  We work to broaden their skills in a group setting offering activities like crafts, circle games, and socializing with other children.  Mini field trips and swimming will also be scheduled throughout the summer.

Kicking crime out of neighborhoods!  Join the Westminster City Police and your neighbors around Westminster for a night of block parties.  It's a great opportunity to meet your neighbors. City officials and Police Officers will visit each site.

25                     Halloween Bench Press
The Westminster Family Fitness Center is sponsoring the 4th Annual Halloween Bench Press on Saturday , October 25th at 11am.  The cost to register is $45.  Registration forms can be returned to The Family Fitness Center or at GNC in Town Mall.   Registration deadline is October 6th.  Registration forms submitted after 10/6 must may $60.  Those entering more than one division will be charged $60.

28                      Halloween Parade
What a great way to celebrate the fall season!  Join us for the annual Halloween parade in Historic Downtown Westminster.  All participants can register at 6pm on Monroe St. near Dutterer's Park.  The parade will begin @ 7pm down Pennsylvania Avenue continuing down Main Street and ending on Longwell Avenue.  This event is coordinated by the American Legion Post #31.

Do you need a safe and fun place to send your 6-13year old children over the holiday break?  Let us help!  Register now for fun filled days of crafts, games, sports, and snacks. Camp will be held Monday, November 24th through Wednesday, November 26th.  Register for one day or all three.  Cost is $20 per day per child with an additional $5 per day per child fee for before care (7-9am) and after care (4-6pm).  Participants need to bring a bagged lunch and a drink.  Snacks provided.  Dress to get messy and have FUN!  Registration form and emergency information are required.

11                          Veteran's Day Ceremony
This remembrance service will be held on Tuesday, November 11th ant 4pm at the Westminster Armory (11 Longwell Ave.)  The service is open to the public.

29                          Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Parade
Happy Holidays!  You have a special invitation to celebrate the holiday season in Historic Westminster.  Enjoy seasonal the seasonal sounds of the Westminster Municipal Band, sing carols, see the awarding of the Mayor's Cup, and await the arrival of Santa.  If you come early you can purchase a treat from the holiday bake sale and enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate.
