City of Westminster Human Resources Office

The City of Westminster Human Resources functions, including recruitment of new employees, employee benefits administration, and payroll, are all under the direction of the Finance Department.

The City of Westminster accepts job applications when there is an advertised opening for a new position or vacant position through the Human Resources Office in the Finance Department. Recruitment of Certified Police Officers is handled directly by the Police Department. All inquiries in reference to Certified Police Officers should be made at the Westminster Police Department located at 36 Locust Street, Westminster, Md., Phone 410-848-4646 or 410-876-3100.

Job Openings are advertised in the Carroll County Times, The Baltimore Sun, and are posted on this Web site, on the Job Openings page. Advertisements for job openings are also posted on the bulletin board located in the lobby of the Finance Department, at the Maryland Job Service, and at the Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center. If the position requires specialized skills, the opening may be advertised in professional journals or through other appropriate methods. All new and open positions are advertised internally prior to advertising to the public. Unsolicited applications/resumes are not accepted.

To apply for an advertised job opening, a City of Westminster Job Application Form must be completed, signed and submitted to the Human Resources Office. Some positions may require a resume. Applications must be received by the Human Resources Office prior to the posted deadline. No late applications are accepted. Applications can be submitted in person, by mail, or by fax at 410-848-3954. If the application is submitted by fax, the original signed application must be mailed by the posted deadline date. A job application can be obtained in person at the Finance Department in the Winchester West Building at 56 West Main Street, Westminster, by requesting an application by mail, or by calling 410-848-6043 or 410-876-1313 (Ext. 6043). The Finance Department hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications may also be requested by e-mail. Upon receiving a request, applications will be mailed or faxed to applicants as instructed. All applicants will receive a postcard confirming receipt of their application.
