Westminster Board of Zoning Appeals conducts public hearings to consider requests for variances to the City's Zoning Ordinance, as well as appeals of decisions made by the Zoning Administrator. 

Westminster City Council - The Mayor and City Council regularly meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7 PM in the Council chamber on the first floor of City Hall at 1838 Emerald Hill Lane. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Citizens' comments are solicited at each meeting. Meeting agendas may be obtained on the Friday preceding each scheduled meeting from the City Clerk at 410-848-9000. The City Clerk also can provide additional information.

Westminster Historic District Commission administers the provisions of the Historic District Zone, a voluntary zoning designation that offers protections to historically valuable structures in the City of Westminster.  The Commission also reviews applications for tax credits and sponsors various events to raise awareness of the value that historic resources add to our community.

Westminster Planning and Zoning Commission educates the public, cooperates and coordinates with local and county governmental agencies in all aspects of planning issues, including the Comprehensive Plan and Capital Improvement Program, advises and acts zoning ordinances and amendment, land use regulations, proposed plats, and site plan applications.

Westminster City Recreation and Parks Advisory Board is advisory in nature to the Mayor and Common Council. The Westminster City Recreation and Parks Advisory Board assists in the continued planning of recreation activities in the City. The Board reviews municipal, county, state and federal standards and practices to foster and create a greater degree of coordination in the field of recreation and parks services. The Parks Board works closely with the Departments of Planning and Public Works in planning annual budget. The Parks Board assists the Mayor and Common Council in recognizing, implementing, and harnessing the recreational potential of areas within the City.

Westminster Tree Commission promotes and assists city staff in accomplishing the goals of the City tree management program, to maintain the trees, shrubs and open space areas in a safe, healthy and attractive condition, to operate a program that is cost effective and meets the professional standards of the tree care industry, to use educational materials and programs to promote proper tree care to the residents of the City and other Municipalities.
