Provided to current and soon-to-be City residents in either a small group or individual setting. Topics discussed include mortgage types, closing costs, preparation for closing, costs of home ownership, and finding the right home.
Credit counseling includes sessions on: Common credit problems, solving credit problems, credit card traps, help with credit issues, and how to establish credit.
Stresses the importance of budgeting before and after a home purchase. Two sessions are spent explaining the importance of budgeting, learning to pay bills on time, and putting a budget together.
This session explains what foreclosure really means, it's long-term impacts, how to get help, and how to work with your lender to avoid foreclosure.
