Westminster City Recreation Department is dedicated to providing citizens with safe and enjoyable activities, events and park services. We are committed to organizing and promoting a variety of recreational activities and events designed to encourage family interaction and personal enjoyment. We also partner with a number of community organizations in an effort to promote the health and well being of our local citizens.

(Charter & Code of Westminster, Article I - Parks Board)
A City Parks Board is hereby created and hereinafter referred to in this Article as the Board. The Board shall be solely advisory in nature to the Mayor and Common Council unless otherwise specified by this Article. The duties of the Board shall be to foster continuing planning of recreation activities in the City, review constantly municipal, county, state and federal cooperation in the field of recreation, continually seek a greater degree of coordination in the development of recreation opportunities, work closely with the Departments of Planning and Public Works in planning their annual budget requests, assist the Mayor and Common Council in carrying out the development of the recreational potential of the areas within the City and inform the citizens by meetings and through news media of the progress of the Board's work.
